If a client hasn’t paid for photography work, the photographer can first send a formal demand letter requesting payment by a set deadline. If unpaid, they can file a claim in small claims court using contracts, invoices, and communications as evidence. Winning the case allows the photographer to potentially place a lien on the client’s property or pursue wage garnishment. Alternatively, they can withhold usage rights or pursue copyright infringement if the client uses unpaid photos.
